About KPS Security

Knight Public Safety (KPS) is the result of vision, dedication, and strategic leadership rooted in the evolution of a growing security company.

Elite Protection, LLC was founded in 2018 by Bradley Townsed in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. With a focus on professionalism and reliability, Elite Protection quickly established a reputation for excellence in private security services.

In December 2023, Elite Protection was acquired by Jacob Knowlton, David Crinion, and Marcus Walsh. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of a new chapter.

On January 12, 2024, Knight Public Safety (KPS) was officially born—built on the foundation of Elite Protection but with a renewed mission to elevate standards in safety and security operations.

Shortly after its founding:

• February 2024: Jacob Knowlton assumed full ownership of KPS by acquiring the shares of his partners.
   
• March 2024: KPS welcomed Leo Bays as Senior Advisor to the President, enhancing strategic oversight.
   
• May 2024: KPS secured the high-profile Mifflin Street Block Party contract.
   
• June 2024: The company reached a significant milestone—serving over 100 clients and expanding its portfolio of contracts.
   
• July 2024: KPS was selected to provide security for the Republican National Convention 2024 USSS Command Post, a prestigious federal-level assignment.
   
• September 2024: KPS secured a major new contract with PLINC.
   
• October 2024: Two key leadership appointments strengthened operations:
   
  • Clinton Middleton as Operations Manager of Dane County.
     
  • Gregory Red as Chief Administrative Officer.
     
• November 2024: KPS proudly sponsored the 2024 PLINC Gala.
   
• December 2024: Nathan Hooker joined the executive team as Vice President of Security.
   

By January 2025, KPS celebrated its one-year anniversary, having served over 267 clients and grown significantly in scale and scope. That same month, the executive leadership team was expanded to support long-term growth:

• Jason Thomasson – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
   
• Teresa Thomasson – Vice President & Chief Operating Officer (VP & COO)
   
• Dylan Knowlton – Chief Affairs Officer
   
• Frances Knowlton – Chief Business Officer
   

In May 2025, KPS surpassed 300 clients served and announced the opening of new operational branches in Illinois and Arizona, extending its commitment to safety and service excellence across the region.
